More and more rail vehicles already have an Ethernet network or will be equipped with one in the future. VoIP technologies offer new possibilities for efficiently connecting and communicating stations with each other or with other subscribers. Full-duplex connections with an IP-based system are no longer a problem. Direct connections between passengers and vehicle drivers are just as possible as connections via digital radio or public mobile radio to the control center.
Status queries, parameterization and software updates can easily be carried out via the Ethernet network.
